SCAG Awarded the Major Metro Achievement Award from the NARC

SCAG is excited to announce it was awarded the Major Metro Achievement Award from the National Association of Regional Councils (NARC) for the SCAG Housing Policy Leadership Academy (HPLA) during the 56th Annual NARC Conference and Exhibition on June 14.  

The HPLA, hosted in partnership with the Global Policy Leadership Academy, offers a 10-session online training for emerging and established community leaders who want to better understand how to advance policy solutions to increase the supply and availability of affordable housing. The HPLA convenes people with different perspectives to develop a shared understanding of root causes and best practices and provides ongoing support to alumni as they work to eliminate barriers and forge lasting solutions to local and regional housing needs all while examining the physical and social aspects of a ehealthy housing ecosystem.

SCAG offered the HPLA with State funding through the Regional Early Action Planning (REAP) grant program, and partnered with the San Gabriel Valley and San Fernando Valley Councils of Government to offer trainings through their REAP-funded grant programs.
