Mayor Pro Tem Rhodes was elected to City Council District 4 in November of 2022 and was elected to serve a one-year term as Mayor Pro Tem in 2023.

Mayor Pro Tem Rhodes is the owner of a consulting company, International Coffee Consulting and works in the supply chain of the coffee industry. His work has taken him to over 20 international destinations to consult, train and develop trade relationships between coffee producers and coffee consumers.

Mayor Pro Tem Rhodes graduated from Seattle University with a Bachelor Degree in Humanities. His professional career started in high tech working for companies like IBM and NYNEX. His career brought him to the Los Angeles area in 1991.

Mayor Pro Tem Rhodes ran a Coffee Roasting and wholesale business in Canoga Park CA from 1996 to 2009. Upon selling the business he moved his family to Simi Valley. He is a husband of 26 years and has two children that attended school in SVUSD and are now pursuing their college and careers.

Mayor Pro Tem Rhodes is a 20+ year member of Rotary. He supports local non-profits like the Samaritan Center by being a monitor in the PADS Program. He has served two years on the Youth Employment Services Board.
