Final Approval of Imperial County Nonattainment Area State Implementation Plan for 2008 8-Hour Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards
On February 27, 2020, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published a final rule on the Federal Register to approve two SIP revisions submitted by California to meet Clean Air Act requirements for the 2008 8-Hour Ozone NAAQS in the Imperial County nonattainment area. EPA is approving the “Imperial County 2017 SIP for the 2008 8-Hour Ozone Standard” and the portions of the “2018 Updates to the California SIP” that address the requirement for a Reasonable Further Progress (RFP) demonstration for Imperial County for the 2008 Ozone NAAQS. The Imperial County nonattainment area will remain classified as a “Moderate” nonattainment area for the 2008 Ozone NAAQS. For more information, view the Federal Register Notice.
