Regional Data Platform Software Licenses Available Now
Don’t miss the chance to take advantage of the complimentary Esri licenses available to your jurisdiction as part of the Regional Data Platform (RDP)! SCAG is making a suite of Esri software licenses available to one designated staff member in each jurisdiction to help support local planning activities and build technological capacity in the region.
This suite of licenses includes access to ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Urban, Business Analyst Online, and ArcGIS Hub. You can request licenses here.
These software licenses may be used by local jurisdiction staff or their consultants in support of long-range planning efforts, such as General Plan updates (including housing, safety, environmental justice and land use elements among others) and Environmental Impact Reports.

Need Help with the Housing Element? Try the HELPR Tool
The Housing Element Parcel Tool (HELPR) is a web-mapping tool developed recently by SCAG to help local jurisdictions meet the California Department of Housing and Community Development’s 6th cycle housing element requirements. HELPR allows users to explore key parcel attributes in order to screen for potentially suitable sites for the housing element update. The HELPR app was developed in collaboration with the RDP and is available now to help with your jurisdiction’s Housing Element update! Watch a video of the Toolbox Tuesday training session on the HELPR tool to learn more.
Introducing the SCAG Local Information Services Team
SCAG’s Local Information Services Team (LIST) will soon begin rolling out a General Plan Update Technical Assistance Program to provide more tailored training to assist with General Plan Housing, Safety and Environmental Justice Elements. This program will provide one-on-one assistance, helping local jurisdictions leverage SCAG’s comprehensive parcel-level land use database and Esri software to advance long range planning.
